Lucas Grant, Ph.D.

Principal Scientist

Dr. Lucas Grant received his doctorate in microbiology, food and nutrition sciences from the University of Queensland, Australia. His doctoral research and scientific publications focus on the gut microbiome, functional foods, and the relationship between phytonutrients and human health. In addition to his research, Dr. Grant has worked for the Life-Space Group as a primary microbiome and probiotic researcher focusing on innovative probiotic and prebiotic supplement development.

Yau Yin Hoe, Ph.D.

Unicity Research and Development Principal Investigator

Dr. Yau Yin Hoe received his bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and microbiology and his doctorate from the National University of Singapore. He has advised and collaborated with various international companies, such as Cytiva, Bio-Rad Diagnostics, Agilent, and Perkin-Elmer. Dr. Yau’s research interests include biomolecular interaction analysis, biosensors, drug discovery, and rapid test kit and monitoring device development. He recently joined Performance Labs Pte Ltd as the research and development principal investigator.

Kalpana Bhaskaran, Ph.D.

Head, Centre for Applied Nutrition Services & Glycemic Index Research Unit | Domain Lead, Applied Nutrition & Glycemic Index Research | Manager/Nutrition Research; Head/Glycemic Index Research Unit, Temasek Polytechnic

Dr. Kalpana Bhaskaran is a world-renowned dietitian nutritionist with more than 20 years of experience in nutrition. She is an expert advisor to the Ministry of Health (MOH), Singapore, with the goal of reducing sugar consumption from beverages. She also serves as the head of the Centre of Applied Nutrition Services and the Glycemic Index Research Unit (GIRU) at Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, the vice president of the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA), the vice president of Diabetes Singapore (DS), an executive committee member of the Asian Nutrition Society for Sports and Health (ANSSH), and the Singapore representative for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Stuart M. Phillips, Ph.D.

Professor, Department of Kinesiology, McMaster University | Canada Research Chair

Dr. Stuart M. Phillips is currently a full-time professor in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University. He is a tier 1 Canada research chair in skeletal muscle health in aging. He is also the director of the Physical Activity Centre of Excellence. Dr. Phillips is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American College of Nutrition, and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.

Stuart M. Phillips, Ph.D.

He frequently publishes his research in peer-reviewed journals and presents at international science meetings.
